what on-line retailer have you bout from ware the anemone has actually survived? I've tried quit a few times and have had success twice. coral reef farm and reef science. I'm rely interested in your carpet experience

ive never bought an anemones from liveaquria/diversden but they are nothing but the best. they guarentee survival and if not, they will give you all your money back including shipping. ive ordered there 3 times and bought a bunch of stuff. nothing ever looked bad when i got it and if something died by my fault, they would still give me the money back

Pacific East Aquaculture and Coral Reef Eco-Systems both offer captive-cloned BTAs for sale on their websites. Coral Reef Eco-Systems offer gorgeous rose BTAs, and Pacific East Aquaculture has green colonial-form BTAs on sale right now.

I don't work for either of these companies, but I have bought frags from PEA before and been impressed with their quality and knowledge. Additionally, I'm a big supporter of buying aquacultured animals whenever possible, especially fragile, ecologically important ones like anemones. :)

What type of carpet? Gig are horrible shippers, and IME, Haddonis are getting to be just as bad of shippers. I only keep Haddonis, and it is getting to the point were I pretty much don't even bother ordering them anymore. They will be fine for about 5 days after shipping, and then just go south after that --- even in tanks that have existing (( healthy )) Haddonis in them.

If you were to try another one, I would only order from someone that has a guarantee -- Live Aquaria comes to mind, mainly the Diver's Den section.

thats the way it's ben running for me. a week to 7 days and gone.

I have had this Haddoni going on two weeks or more and seems to be doing alright, and he was purchased from LiveAquaria. I was going to purchase a carpet from the Divers Den, however, he was gone upon checkout. Go with a guarantee if you are going to purchase online.

I've got a green bta from bluezooaquatics. I had a little scare but mainly since i didnt want to move him. I couldnt get food to him for a few weeks and he was starting to bleach. I flipped the rock around and he has stayed put since and has started taking food and gaining some color back.

My next will be a nice rose from liveaquaria.

Ive never bought an anemone from these guys, but im very happy with saltwaterfish.com, they give a 15 day gurantee after arival, and they have a pretty big selection. When I do get my RBTA, its gonna be from them.

Here's my experience, and I hope you make the most of it:

I have ordered 2 magnifica and once haddoni from DD, and one gigantea from Reef Hotspot, and all died in the first 6 weeks.

However, in the same systems, I now have a gigantea, a bta, and a haddoni, all purchased from an lfs in the last 2 years, and ALL have survived.

Just something to think about. I love DD and have had good luck with RHS, but I will never buy an nem online again. EVER.

Trying to save money by mail ordering is not always worth it when it comes to delicate anemones. Let the LFS take the risk and pay that extra price to get an anemone that has been acclimated and is healthy. Personally, I stick to anemones that can be captively propagated like sebae, BTA and LTA.
