What order to introduce?

I'm getting rid of my bossy clown and changing out the livestock. I know for sure that I want a purple firefish, an atlantic pygmy angel, and some type of goby (maybe yellow watchman). My question is, in what order should I introduce the atlantic pygmy angel and firefish? I have a 36 gallon bowfront with a little bit of places to hide, but not a whole lot. I went pretty minimalistic with my rockscape.

So, it seems the message is that the angel needs to be last, regardless? Could I change up the order of the firefish and goby? I plan on introducing them in the same order as that, I'm just curious.

Those two should be fine in either order, personally I would still do the firefish first

Just a heads up. But my pygmy angel ended up being very aggressive towards my watchman goby after a year in a 55 gallon with 75lbs of live rock. The angel decided all the rock belonged to her and no-one else....

She was an awesome fish that was reef safe but with age become very territorial, she would fight with the Osc. clownfish pair too for no reason. They wouldn't back down and ended up with all three fish having torn fins and looking a little rough for a few days but the next week she would pick another fight.

I don't really have any experience with angels (pygmy or not) so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. Of course I've read about them but no first hand experience. I saw an Atlantic the other day at the store and I got pumped about getting one. They just struck me as my next adventure in fish keeping. Now, if only I could get rid of the female Percula clown that I've had for five years that made her partner jump and kill himself and is still dominating my tank....

So I sold my clownfish tonight. That means that tomorrow I start the restocking process. Out of curiosity, how do purple firefish do in groups of three? Plus, do you think that three firefish, a watchman goby, a pygmy angel, and one other fish is pushing the limits on stocking a 36 gallon bowfront? I feel like it is but I got the idea in my head tonight that three firefish interacting with each other would be a good idea.

What fish would be a good candidate that is in the red to orange color range? I want a balance of color. Maybe some invertebrates that capture that color?

Sorry in advance but I'm going to call you out on a pet peeve of mine. Your clown didn't kill himself, in essence you did by not covering your tank. You need a top, especially if you're going to keep a firefish. Good luck.:strange:

I agree. That's why my mesh cover should be finished tomorrow :-)

I've had firefish before and they definitely love to jump. They should include a cover when you buy the fish!
