What piece of equipment would you not purchase again?

Kalk stirrer. Now I just dump a few cups into my ATO reservoir. The stirrer was so bad I couldn't in good conscience even sell it on.

Tunze osmolator ATO. Tho I love having an ATO and this is so easy to use, I hate that when I unplug it for water changes, messing with water levels, etc, even if I refill the water to the level of the sensor, when I plug this back in, it will ALWAYS kick on and throw in RODI water in for a few seconds. This last time the water was even above the sensor itself before it actually shut off. I think I'll be looking for another ATO.

Yup...Same here. Every time it power cycles it adds water. Mine is on a 180g so its not a huge huge deal but It still bugs the heck out of me.

Biopellet reactor. Bought it and the carbon reactor at the same time, carbon I know makes a difference.. biopellet, not sure.

For me I would not buy a biopellet reactor or start biopellets again. Corals lost color and had a cyano outbreak.

Same. I also found that bio-pellets fuel cyano and will not use again.

I'll also never buy a vertex skimmer again, never buy a gyre pump again or any electronic ATO device.

Never owned anything neptune or ecotech and never will.

Aqueon heater - failed in 2 weeks leaking current to the point of hearing popping.
Ehiem Jager heater - out of the box almost cooked my tank, obsurdly large.

Cheap power heads for my DT. For example, Koralia. They are OK for keeping mixed salt water moving or for the QT, but not for the DT.

Gyre.....

Now I did buy it used. But in the 6 months or so I've had it it's worked 2 months. Needed upgraded propellers, then bushing kit, now another piece. Too much work. I want to plug it in and it work.
Never again anything they make.

Maxspect Mazzara lights or anything sold by CoralVue. The customer service is dreadful once your items breaks or has issues.

Agree, my Ethereals aren't even a year old and I have to send it back to repair the fan. Meanwhile, I won't have a light on the tank. Garbage!

Tunze 5074 Calcium Dispenser

I paid $95 for this thing and from day one it spills kalk back into my ATO container, essentially nullifying its purpose. The check valve clogs constantly, and yes it is set up correctly. I've been in contact with Tunze and while their customer service is good, this is just a really bad product. And the worst part is that I don't even feel comfortable selling it to anyone for any price, so I'm stuck holding the bag. It's a really, really overpriced and poor-functioning product. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't have taken it even for free.
