Sorry, my bad didn't see the in sump part of the question! Yes they are external only. Ive used Mag drives submersed but I think Id like to try the Ehiem pumps!!!

I've got the same tank and I'm using a Quiet One 4000. So far I like it, I was going to go with the Eheim 1260 but had this pump laying around and I think I'm going to stick with it. It is surprisingly pretty quite.....more than I thought it would be anyways.

I run a panworld and have had nothing but excellent results out of it. If you are interested in an external pump i would highly recommend it!

eheim 1260 or 1262, both can be run internal or external. I use mine external to cut down on heat

i went from an ampmaster to a tunze master recirculation pump.

the ampmaster was dead quiet and worked really really well up until the seals started to wear out in about two years and started to slow down (but didnt leak).

so...

i decided to try a tunze master recirc because of the incredible rep that tunze has.

the first one i got made a loud rattling sound that i couldnt figure out. i contacted roger on the tunze forum and got the best customer service i have received from any product rep.

he sent me a new pump and has worked flawlessly.

it is a little noisier than the ampmaster but the hum is quite low. i cant say i would have it in a living room set up as all my equipment is remotely located in the garage and noise isnt an issue.

would i get another tunze recirc pump?

it is a definite maybe. so far, the reliability has been bullet proof and i have had it, i am guessing, for a year or so.

it shows no sign of slowing up or any annoyances i have noticed with other external pumps...seal wear being the biggest one it seems.

My vote is for Poseidon Titanium PS3 for at 120 I have the PS4.

It's is absolutely silent. The ehiem 1262 I have on my Euroreef skimmer and I can say it is quiet but not dead silent like the Poseidon.

People say Poseidon heats up the tank but on my 180 the temp is steady at 76-77 degrees without lights and without heater so I guess it doesnt' heat up that much.
