what salinity level is working for u?

I have increased mine to 1.0265 (35 ppt or NSW)and notice I get more stable Calcium and Alkalinity. I used to maintain at 1.025 until I realized that at that level in my refractometer reading which is calibrated and manufactured for sodium chloride (saline solution not sea water) that was equivalent to about 1.0235

With such a small pico (3G), it's really hard for me to maintain an absolutely precise salinity, especially with my co-residents always turning down the heat in the house or leaving the front door open for long stretches of time.

I generally aim at 1.023-1.024. This gives me plenty of "play" or "wiggle" should the tank really evaporate during the day while I'm at work. The highest it gets up to while I'm at work is 1.025-1.026, well within a safe range for my guys. XD

Lately I've been a little slack with top offs and my salinity has been around 1.027-1.028 and my corals are looking as good as ever.

in arizona, I keep mine at 1.025. I lose 1/2 gallon per day on my 15g nano, and over one gallon per day on my 70g. If I kept it around 1.027/1.028, on those days I didn't keep up with evap, I'd way overshoot 1028. this issue has come up on the arizona room here on RC, and this seemed to be standard.
On my 12g jbj nano, I keep the salinity a little higher in the winter when the temp stays in desirable range. However, when summer rolls around, I have to open the hood and sometimes use a fan for evap. cooling, so there I again go to 1.025

mine is really high, towards 1.28-.29 on my refractometer.... but everythign growing very well an everything happy

You do mean 1.028. Might be kind of high for fish, maybe not right away, but will eventually take its toll.

I've been keeping my NC24 at about 1.024 for close to two years and that seems to work. I'm suprised so many of you keep it above 1.026

last i checked mine was 1.029
bringing it down to my normal 1.026 - 1.027
u guys have to remember, the Red Sea has upto 1.035 sg
