What salt do you prefer?

I use RC... but I think the next bucket may be TMP based on the numbers I have been seeing.

a great salt for sure, i used it for a good year myself, but was constantly dosing to get the alk level up, i found imo it was poor, i think the D&D is similar but a better alk level, still go for it, overall its definately a great salt

Seachem Reef Salt now. I have used Coralife, and Reef Crystals. I hated the fertilizer smell of RC, and the brown deposit it left all over the equipment. Coralife is a great salt, but I'm leaning towards the Seachem.

Instant Ocean for several years. Never noticed the slime that some folks talk about. Plus I can get it in the 200 gallon size from TFP which i like.

RC seems purer to me. I have a 50 gallon mixing tank where I let the water sit after the salt is mixed and noticed that with IO there would be a brown silt floating on the to of the water. Not sure what it is but I don't get that with RC.

Reef Crystal for me, first salt I ever used but my water parameter been pretty stable and my corals looks good =)

used reef crystals, always had to supplement mag.switched to Bio-Sea love it ,never will go back to RC again.

Coralife is the salt here in St. Louis. Great prices and to tell you the truth I hardly ever dose any additional elements. CA, Mg, and dKH remain at proper levels. Very stable levels. I have been using nothing but for the last 15+ years.

I like SeaChem. I have used IO and RC and SeaChem has worked best for me for keeping my PH where it needs to be.

Started with reef crystals. Slowly switched to oceanic but tank did not do so well. Switched back to reef crystal and tank looks healthier.

IO. I ran tropic marin pro for a while, but I need to dose/supplement regardless for SPS tank so it just makes more sense for me $$ wise to run the cheap stuff.

For many years i used to just assume salt is salt.. NO dont make a mistake and pick up any salt. even some reputable salt companys suck. From now on i stick with Instant Ocean. I used a 50 gallon oceanic for few water changes and the fish did not react the same way they do when i used instant ocean.. Also for the first time in 1 year my PH began to drop in those 6 weeks of using oceanic. Reef crystal or instant ocean

I have been using reef crystals for a few years now and i have not had a problem with it. In the past for my fish only systems i used seachem and i was very happy with that also. i may try the seachem reef salt in the near future to give it a shot.

Oceanic all the way. good levels with fresh mixed salt. doesn't clump and i could only mix it for a few hours if i had to. which i had to before, actually minutes. i used IO one time because it was cheep, after adding it to my tank everything started to go crazy, corals sliming everywhere and fish doing loops. i mixed up some Oceanic and stirred it for about 15-20 minutes and did a 75% change. within minutes the fish started to act normal and corals opened back up.
