It is the same thing with metal halide bulbs. Most of them are manufactured by Venture. Other companies buy them from venture and put their names on them. Dan from Pacific Garden Supply knows all about it.

Headache, nothing but a headache.
But I still may try the natural seawater, we know it has all the right ingredients. When you figure what I pay for salt, shipping, maintenance on the RO, water and time.
Plus, a stop at the Tides or Lucas Wharf for a Bloody Mary or  afterwards would make it more fun than mixing my own.....

I've used the ocean water that is taken out of the half moon bay area. I tested for the usual suspects and I found that it was high in silicates. which i already knew because of the brown algae bloom that occured right after a water change. I still use it for my fish only system when I'm not using the water I've taken out of my reef tank. Remember our water from the coast is very nutrient rich because of upwellling. I would be courious to know if bodega marine lab is only keeping temperate aquariums or if they have a indo-pacific or caribean coral reef aquariums.

Used IO for about 28 years. Just recently tried Seachem Reef and may give it a go. I'm getting tired of haveing to adjust IO's calcium level.

First time I have seen this one

Deltec H2Ocean Magnesium Pro PLUS Salt Mix

H2Ocean Pro+ is a new pro formula aquarium salt - produced by a solar evaporative process which produces a totally natural base salt where all of the main and trace elements are in complete balance as nature intended.

Parameters when mixed to a S.G: of 1.025 @ 25°C = 35.5 ppt

Parameters Level Range Units
pH 8.3 8.2-8.4
dKH 9.3 8.7-9.8

Potassium (K+) 410 380-420 mg/l

Yep here is the info I received and I can get it if anyone wants to try it. Just send me a PM.

H2Ocean Pro+
NEW HIGH MAGNESIUM SALT
A new premium salt manufactured by a solar evaporative process, which produces a totally natural base salt where all of the main and trace elements are in complete balance as nature intended. The pure natural salt is then specially enhanced for aquarium use by elevating specific elements that over time become depleted, such as calcium and magnesium which are used by corals and coralline algae for growth.
CHEMISTRY
The final formulation for H2OceanPRO+ salt was developed by D-D following many months of testing and evaluation. The salt is designed to dissolve quickly and easily and to have a specific chemistry which in our opinion is the optimum formulation to maintain a healthy reef and allow regular water changes whilst maintaining a natural balance. Calcium and Magnesium levels are boosted to replace that used up through coral growth within the aquarium whereas chloride levels are slightly lowered to allow post additions of calcium and magnesium chloride with a minimized affect on the chloride balance.
PRO PLUS FORMULA WITH BOOSTED MAGNESIUM
Many salts concentrate on enhancing calcium levels and often ignore magnesium levels. Maintenance of the correct magnesium concentration is equally important in a reef aquarium and will make it much easier to maintain stable calcium, pH and alkalinity.
