What size aquarium for these fish

Ok I think that it would be a better idea to just list the fish I would like to keep and then figure out how large the aquarium would need to be to house them.

1 Regal Angel (Pygoplites diacanthus)
2 Tomato Clowns (Amphiprion frenatus)
3 Saddle-Back Butterflies (Chaetodon ephippium)
1 Blue Tang (Paracanthurus hepatus)
2 Yellow Tangs (Zebrasoma flavescens)
1 Dwarf Zebra Lionfish (Dendrochirus zebra)

Just give me some size recommendations either in gallons or sq feet.

with those tangs and butterflies? no less than 150gallons.
the tangs are going to get large and they are basically what is going to make you require a larger tank.
the zebra gets large also. dont let the word dwarf fool you. they can still grow up to a foot.

I would also say anywhere from a 180 and up.

I agree i would start there but the bigger the better. So if you can afford do it now, or later you might be kicking yourself for not going a little bigger!

FWIW, saddleback butterflies are found in pairs, not groups as are so often many of the other hawaiian species.

I'd go as big as you can, as yoboyjdizz suggested you might kick yourself later if you don't. If you feel, for example, that a 180 is large enough for your list, I'd get a 220 or even 250 -- chances are somewhere down the road you're going to see another fish (or a few) you'd like to add, and even if that never happens a little extra room won't hurt ;)

Thanks for the heads up.

Something that I noticed that I thought was interesting, 2 90 gallons is cheaper than 1 180 gallon, must be the glass thickness that kicks the price up :D I have also kicked around the idea of building an indoor saltwater pond that would sit on my wall (the wall is 10 feet so the pond would be 10 feet). I would probably link it to my current 29 gallon planted system (mangroves, caulerpa, etc). I could extend it about 2 feet into the room. I prefer the look of wood but homedepot has thoughs bricks used for building retaining walls and they would be easier to install. Either way I would use pond lining. Any thoughts or suggestions?
