What size dwarf angels

I'm going to add a couple of dwarf angels to my 155 gal (72x24x21). My choices of sizes are 1" to 1 3/4" or 1 3/4" to 2 1/2". Which would give the best combination of hardiness and compatibility in transition?

Probably no material difference in hardiness and transition. Get what you prefer. If they have to defend themselves against established aggressive tank inhabitants, the larger ones may do better. I personally prefer smaller fish, but I like to watch them grow.

Also, if you want to keep corals it is best to get the smallest. Hopefully they haven't eaten corals in the wild.

Are you talking about a couple of the same species? If yes, I'd say one much smaller than the other. Different species? Don't think it matters, though I too prefer smaller ones.

Definitely different species. Didn't know if the smaller ones were more fragile or not. If the smaller ones are just as hardy I'll go with them.

The most boisterous tank mates are two small black ocellaris and three fairy wrasse. Very peaceful tank thus far.

From my experience, the smaller(younger) a fish is, the less chance of showing aggression. So if you are adding a few different dwarf angels, I would recommend the smaller ones, but try to get them all the same size

Which ones are you looking at?

I have an african flameback. Seems to be a model citizen for the last year or so. Very pretty fish.

It will be hit or miss with angels, I just returned a flameback because he would nip at my open brain but didn't seem to bother the zoa's that I have.

I have a flame that is generally good with corals, but does like to nip at an open brain occasionally. So I moved it closer to where my diamond goby makes its home - now whenever the flame approaches it gets chased off. Brain does get the occasional dusting of sand, but in tank flow gets rid of it pretty quickly.

Full disclosure, just keep in mind that if you get one, and it starts to nip too much on things you care about, it's a real pain to get out of a reef. I had to take at least half my LR out of the tank just to catch him. Not trying to scare you off getting what you want, just thought I'd mention it.

I just caught my Coral Beauty nipping at some SPS yesterday, explains why some of them have not looked to happy lately
