Too Many Tanks
Hello,
i just built a new sump. A 55 gallon tank with baffles and I'm using a Euro Reef RS180. The skimmer sits next to the baffles/bubble trap then flows over to my return pumps. My question is what size return pumps do you think i should use? I don't want them to be to strong because i don't want to rush the water through my sump taking skimming ability away from my skimmer. I feel that my skimmer is not getting an adequate skim from the rapidly moving water. I'm currently using for now, two RIO 750gph/Hyper flows. The tank has double over flows and the sump is plumed through the wall. The distance from the return pumps to tank is about 4.5 feet. I feel that the water flow is way to strong. Any suggestions on gallon per hour as far as pumps i should be running? Thanks any help is greatly appreciated. Rob
