what skimmer to chose between the 2

The ASM works decently but for the money I think you could do better. I speak from experience on the G3. I replaced mine with a i-tech 100 and haven't looked back since.
 
Was reading last night and some one said Pacific Coast Needle Wheel Protein Skimmer PS-3000 was a rip off of the old style octo is this correct? are they any good? can get a brand new one onsale 197.00
 
Never even heard of them! That is not a good thing you may want to stick with tried and true models that are known to work well. The Octopus skimmers are the best bang for your bucks, And the newer W/BB Pumps are the best you can buy in that price range.
I-Tech is going to be 500.00 or so for there small model unless you can find a used one like i just sold.

hadnt got the tunze just yet but going to soon just dont have alot to spend on a skimmer tho thats the crappy part ::sigh::
