What skimmer would you run?

I have a RO Regal 170int and want to upgrade. I have total volume of about 140g including sump and frag tank. I am looking at Bubble King mini 180 and Bubble King Double Cone 180. Looking for other suggestions.

Thanks

I just bought a Vertex Omega 180i after quite a bit of research. Seems really well built but I haven't installed it yet to give a review. I ran an RO 150 Int for a long time without issue.

I run a bk mini 180 on my 120. Bought a new one 3 months ago. Awesome skimmer. Reef octopus were nice to but the quality and ease of cleaning my skimmer cup by just lifting it off is awesome.

There is a bk mini 180 in greater San Francisco bay area section on this forum selling it for $600 only been used for a month.

Thats a great deal and you won't regret a BK skimmer. But if you buy new maybe look at the BK150. It would be suited a little better for your tank size most likely. I considered the BK 180 for my 240 gallon cube with 30 fish in it. I ended up going with the BK200 which is rated for 254 gallons heavy stocked. Well according to the skimmers ability, my 240 with 30 fish is NOT a heavy stocked tank. There are some variables, fish size and amount fed but for the time this skimmer doesn't even work hard.
So in a few words, these skimmers are underrated so don't underestimate the ability of them to work.

I run a bk mini 200 myself on my 210 and I love it. Especially with the a aquadriver helix head cleaner now it's even working better. I can see the foam head before where's all the gunk was getting clogged

If a BK is in your budget, the only choices are which model BK to purchase...

Post in their vendor forum and Scott and/or Marco will respond and assist with helping you decide on an appropriate model.

I was looking at the bubble king and the Vertex. The designs appear to be really similar. I installed the Vertex last night and it was easy as pie. New tank so I can't gauge the performance but from what the break in process looks like, I have very high expectations.
