What would you guys recommend for a good External Skimmer? One that won't break the bank...

ETSS Reef Devil or Sump Buddy would do the trick, and it would be the last skimmer you ever buy for that system. LOL Built tough. They should be right around the $300 range for ya. IMO they produce more bubbles than any other skimmer and to me that equals a higher O2 level for stability.

will break the bank and complete overkill but its a pimp skimmer. i would pick this one up if it were in my budget. the 300 for the skimmer is fine, its getting a pump big enough for it that is killing my wallet.

I have a Precision Marine Bullet III Series Protein Skimmer. It works great but setting it up/balancing it is a bit of a PITA.

well I made the final decision this morning and ordered a swc 160 cone. The asm models are compelling but after seeing everyone mods them to get the results they want I chose a different path. I'd rather plug it in and watch it pull goop than experiment if possible.
