What Species is this Anemone? My first Anemone!

HI -

I am hoping that someone might be abel to help me. I purchased this anemone at the LFS paired with a Clown. I can not remember the name of the anemone and the LFS was not sure either. I think it might be a LTA - but I am only guessing. Any advice would be appreciated. This is my first anemone and I want to do a good job. Also, any suggestion on how to reduce Nitrates in the water? All other parameters are fine - I just have slight Nitrates - 10. Thanks a bunch!

Yep - that is an LTA - Macrodactyla doreensis.

Nice anemone. What kind of light is it under? Tank size and how old is your tank?

Anemones are not hugely sensitive to nitrates. 10 ppm shouldn't be a problem.

Thank you - I liked it too much to leave it at the LFS.

Right now it is in a 5g hex (cycled for 4 weeks) with it's Clown (False Percula) with a 25w bulb. It will be moved into my 29g BioCube (currently cycling) in a couple of weeks.

So Nitrates not a problem? That would be better for the Anemone - I have been doing small water changes every other day trying to get them down to 0.

I read the Anemone FAQ, and poked around a bit on the web - but anyone have some first hand knowledge on this species?

Yeah, a 25W PC bulb is not going to suffice for a couple of weeks...it is already bleached out more than it should be, and 25W of light and trying to get one of those guys too attach is a real pita. I would recomend an upgrade, or get your LFS to hold on to it...
