What species of clownfish would you call this?

Well lets compare with a certain ID A.Chrysopterus

Yeah I would say for sure that they are Chrysopterus

Wow, those are awesome photos ezhoops.. I think I'm fallin' in love...lol:)

Greetings all, a quick update on the identity.

Dr. Fautin wrote me back this morning, saying "To me this is clearly *A. chrysopterus*, but it does have a yellow caudal fin. The fish taxonomist is my coauthor on the book, Gerry Allen. He has seen these animals throughout their range, and can determine if this is a variant of any species." Then she told me she sent the question on to Dr. Gerard Allen.

Later today she sent me a follow up, " He (Dr. Allen) confirmed that it is A. chrysopterus." (how awesome is that! drop-dead cool in my book!... they are so helpful!)

So the identity is now "in the bag" = A. chrysopterus

Thanks again for everyone's input, EC's help and direction, and... this has been a lot of fun!

(Oh yes, the book is older, actually written in 1992.)

That is very awesome! Dr. Fautin is just incredible IMHO.
I'm glad you finally have a rock solid identification for these fish.
