What the heck is this? (picture)

[Fountainhead]

This little "branch" has sprouted on a hunk of TBS rock. The rock has been in my tank 9 weeks or so, but the branch has only recently appeared. It isn't large, but seems pretty sturdy. You can see that a Hermit crab has climbed onto it, and it supports his weight. Any ID? Thanks.

What is that clear anenome looking thing right above the branch. I have like six of them and don't know if they are good or bad. I beleive that round thing in the upper center is also the start of another. Any ideas?
