concerning my yellow leather mushroom coral
for 2 days she didnt show her polyps but still had plenty of green algae (zooanxelle)
she also shrank up a bit and detached from her mount
now today i come home from work (i had worked 10 hrs - plus washed clothes at my ma's house)
when i got home the leather was pulling in her polyps
(from the blue light being on getting ready for nightime)
now theres some slightly transparent mucus/ slime on it
is this a normal part of its growth? or is there a chance something is awry?
ps. it does NOT look like brown jelly disease

Yellow leathers do not frag well, and as someone else said it looks like it was fragged recently. All you can do is provide good flow and hope for the best IMO.

When I first got mine it was 3-4" (so not a frag), and it had a rough start. I don't take the blame for the poor start or credit for its good health 3-4 weeks later.

the "slime" is a normal process for cleaning...their equivalent to taking a Saturday night bath. a decrease in water quality, though, will trigger this reaction so checking parms is warranted if not done recently
