What the strangest thing you found in your tank?

I know you thought you were doing what was best for the bat. I guess I would have let it dry and put it outside. It would find a new hole to crawl into somewhere.

They tend to winter in atics sometimes so it isn't uncommon to have one get in the house. He probably felt the warmth of the light and crawled through the hole and fell in the water.

Your heart was at least in the right place at least.

I understand, and I'm sure the bat wasn't rabid -- just from a public health POV I'm not surprised they destroyed the poor little critter.

If a bat ever got into my house my wife would make me sell the house. New York girls are not fond of bats. I don't think we ever had an ant in the house.
I never found anything strange in my tank :eek1:

Truly the first "natural reef" tank I've seen! I also see three bottles to go along with the Bud can and something in the bottom right quarter that looks kinda like a shoe

So thats where it is. I have been looking for that shoe for ages.

Actually, thats a Grand Marnier bottle. (it's actually a saloon biotope) But no bats yet :eek1:

Hello,

Actually I almost had a tree frog make it into my tank. I live in Florida and had the window open and didn't realize that there was a hole in the screen. My cat all of a sudden started going nuts and trying to climb the wall. I looked and there was a tree frog climbing there heading for the tank (luckily it is under construction and no water is in it yet :) ). We caught him in a towel and let him outside and I fixed the screen ASAP.

It's not as exotic as a bat, but my cat has been in my tank. She used to jump from the desk and walk on the canopy, until one day I had the canopy off to work on the lights. She still jumped, and before I could do anything - splash! She hasn't been near the thing since.
