A Reef In The Sky
Hey guys,

I'm in the process of setting up a new tank and would like some advice on what fish you recommend transferring/adding 1st to the new tank.

Current fish: in a fully established tank
x1 Blue Hippo Tank
x2 Clown Fish
x1 Blue/Yellow Damsel
x1 Cleaner Shrimp

New Fish: I want in the new tank
x1 Yellow Tang
x1 Purple Tang
x6-10 Chromis
x6-10 Anthias (either Bartletts, Dispar and/or Lyretails)
x2 Sleeper gobies

Unfortunately the fish will be from the wild (no captive bred) so it's quite important to get it right. I will be quarantining all fishes.

More info can be found here.

Many thanks in advance

Ok thanks for the replies guys...

When should I introduce my current fish into the mix? I plan on keeping my original tank running no more than 2months after the new one is set up.

Was thinking this order...

x1 Cleaner Shrimp
x2 Clowns
x1 Damsel

x6-10 Chromis
x6-10 Anthias (either Bartletts, Dispar and/or Lyretails)
x2 Sleeper gobies
x1 Blue Hippo Tank
x1 Yellow Tang
x1 Purple Tang

Sound reasonable?

I'd say that's a pretty reasonable plan for additons. Your clowns and damsel will help cycle the system along. The only positions I might swap, in an ideal world, would be the gobies, and anthias adding these two before the chromis. IMO, since you already have the clowns and damsel in, the chromis can wait.

Just curious, do the clowns have a nem?

Thanks Bax, that will be the plan then.

The clowns currently don't have a nem and I don't plan on getting one. They have been hosting a torch coral for over a year now.
