i've had my 75 gallon going for a year and half now and lost 2 clams 5 months ago and since then been hesitant to put any back in but recently at night have found out i got pyramid snails.

what is best way to exterminate these little suckers, i have a sixline wrasse and pseoudochromis already so is there anything else that would be a good predator on these snails.

fish don't work for eradicating these pests. the snails are nocturnal and the fish are diurnal, they may get a few stragglers but they're not a solution. the only thing that works is manual removal of the snails and their egg sacs. daily inspection and removal are needed at first but you can gradually decrease as the problem starts to go away.

what's their food source now??

good luck

not sure what the snails would eat now since there are no clams but i've spot at the most of 6 of these snails. Guess i can spend an hour or so a night a remove everyone i see.

thats how i found out what was killing them, maybe i will get some cheap cleaner clams and use them for bait.

you should be able to figure out what their eating, take a look around at your other molluscs, particularly astraea snails if you have any.

when you see the snails, where are they and what are they doing??
