^ Yea I have to agree!!! Didnt you see my light when you came over!?!?!?!? Now THATS a homade eyesore~! LOL it looks GREAT! I know your like me and just anal but honestly its very clean and looks great. Plus you will have the added benefit of the air movemnt under the light, will help when its summer time. You better get some screen to acclimate the corals thou. I will have to come by to see it asap.
 
Hmm not sure how to take your comment... Lets see... I work from home and no one was around today. I had no one to ask their opinion on the look of the thing. The last I checked this was a "Community" of like minded people (reef related) what better place to ask? I have not had experience with a MH system before, as well as a open top tank. I was on the fence with the look vrs spending a lot more to retrofit the stock hood. So yeah I would say that this is for real, what part of it did you think was fake?
 
i think it looks fine, i read the thread this morning and thought the same thing as above, a piece of black acrylic to block the view of the back.
 
Yep thats what I think I am going to do, try and fit a nice piece of black acrylic to the back blocking the the skimmer and stuff. Seems to be the best choice if I want to keep the fixture.
 
Please don't dig too deeply in understanding what I meant. It was just a question. You said you didn't take anything personally. I just thought it was odd to to ask the "community" if they thought your new light went with your decor. In the future, I will refrain from sarcastic responses. My bad. I owe you a frag.

Personally, I think it looks good and I like it.

You know how people say, what part of it didn't you get, that is what I was getting at. Silly text never shows the inflection so the point is missed, no worries really!
 
I'm glad were good with it. I will still refrain from sarcasm unless the atmosphere is right for it.
I do get into trouble with the spouse alot for poking too much fun with things.
 
I like you Y . OCD. if it don't match it needs to go. my gf/wife is not like me at all. I hate dirt she can like in it. do you can imagine how I feel doing all this remodeling. its driving me nuts. and all the mail my wife leaves all over the table. drives me insane so some times I will just dump it in the trash. 5 people in my hose and not one of them can match things or make them fit together, just drives me nuts. oh well I have the living room to myself. thats my room.

random_ryan -- Thanks for the compliments! I am a lot like you, everything has to match for me, line up, be in its place! No one around my place does any of that. Just like you they walk in drop everything and leave it. Junk mail everywhere, shoes, bags, cloths whatever they decide to drop. I go behind them all tossing things in the trash, dirty cloths, their rooms etc!! Hehe I have my office to myself and my family room the rest of the place they can clutter up. My girlfriend is moving in a month or so and I get my house back. That is a doubled edge sword of course... See you in a couple hours though to get that carpet.
 
Found this old thread while doing a search - I wasn't sure how a RSM would look without the integrated hood. Your hood looks good on the tank.
