What to do with our new AquaPods?

i have a 24g ap, but i'd do the same to a 12 and have w/my boicube 8.

1) get rid of the stock pump. stock pump on ap 24 is 32w. to much heat.

2) increase circulation. i did this by swapping the stock pump w/mj 900. then put a hydor wave maker (that turning do dad) on the outlet. i then added another 2 mj 900s. one of those goes to a rio dual duckbill and exits at rear center and the other goes to a 1/2 black tube that loops around the front of the tank. hook those two pumps up to a wave maker and you get flow pushing from the rear, then the front.

3) rock placement. try to keep your rock up and not against the back wall if you can. i did not do that w/my ap 24 and get a lot of build up behind the rocks. i did do it with my bicube 8 and have no build up around the rocks.

4) they make skimmers for these guys and i'm sure folks can speak to that better on nanotuners. i just kept the sponge and clean regularly.

Turn it into a QT? Turn it into a disco. Go nuts. Have fun. Sheez, for $150 why not? QT? That's what the $20 W-Mart tanks are for.

I just took my nano down & transferred the contents into the 90 g. If I ever set it up again, I am dreaming of dwarf sea horses - but would need a chiller first!
