I got a batch of live phyto from a friend and started growing it at home using 2 clear jugs and regular bulb ( White light ), air pump, and some drops of liquid fertilizer for food...... now harvest once a week...

Along with calcium/alkalinity dosing, the only thing I add is Seachem's Reef Plus. I overskim my tank, and just try to add back a little of what I think I might be removing that's beneficial.

well i chck for calcium and alk and all looks good. what does the seachem reef plus add to the water?

i remember reading on the forums a way back about adding iodine to the water, do they have test to chck the lev in the water; also what does that do for them?
sorry if these are stupid ?'s

yup, a couple of clear jugs/bottles, air pump, lines to run air to the bottles, a hard clear plastic tube ( with tons of holes drilled through it to create tons of bubbles ), ordinary 5600k-6000k bulbs like the melev type ( on for 12 hrs. ), rodi/saltmixture and a couple drops of liquid fertilizer for plankton food and let them grow for a week or 2...

my friend gave me a tiny sample 1/3 cup and now I have 2 jugs worth... feed my tank 1 cup a day or every 2 days... corals will look a lot better , feeds you pods as well.

Reef Plus contains trace elements, vitamins, and amino acids. You can get the complete analysis from Seachems website.

I would not dose iodine without a test kit!!!
