What to use in my water???

I dose my tank with limewater(kalkwasser) via dosing pump at a rate equal to my evaporation. Other than that no supplements. It has worked very well so far and I am happy with the growth rate and appearance of my zoos. Also as everyone else said, regular water changes will take care of just about everything else as far as replacing trace elements..

Water changes are your best friend.
I also use reef solution by Eco Systems, the stuff is incredible. Far better than anything else I have ever used. My growth rates have increased by over 50% in the last month.
I would not dose iodine again. Over 70% of it is unuseable by corals. The key element that your corals need to grow is ioDIDE. The rest is just junk. YOu will find with Iodide that the system uses it faster, than iodine becuase the corals can use more of it effectively.
I would still carefully test before adding it to your system. Excessive amounts can be poisonous to inverts. I have found with frequent water changes it is hardly ever necessary to dose for iodide.

I agree that water changes are probably the best thing for a healthy reef.
I add 2 drops of lugols every week, 1 tsp of Tech CB 3X a week, & 1 tsp of Tech M every week on a 29 gallon. I wouldn't add the iodine at all if it wasn't for my large xenia colony that seems to love it, and for the past week I have lowered that to 1 drop.
I also test all my water parameters every weekend.
