what kind of tunze pump would be good for a standard 90 gal. i was looking at the 6060 because it is in my price range. but any other recomendations would be helpful. i have 2 seio 820's and 2 maxi jets(on aquacontroller jr for wavemaking). also would the 6060 be too much for lps? i am planning on going to mostly sps when i get finished stocking the tank. and what type of mounting options are avalible for "turbelle"?

sorry for alll the questions

thanks for the help

Hi,

A 6060 in a 90 should be fine as long as the tank is fairly open aquascaped and not pointing right towards the reef. The 6060 is non controllable, meaning you can not pulse it on and off on a wavemaker, however you can put it on a time and turn it off and on every hour or so. I know quite a few people who are doing that with very good succes.

You can mount with the standard brackets it comes with, however I would highly recommend using the magnet holders, as they are much more versatile and stable over the brackets, especially for US designed glass tanks.

I have 2 6100 in each corner of my 90g tank in a sps dominated tank and they work great.
I would highly urge you to try to save a bit more and get the 6000 or 6100 which are controllable. The variety of wave settings allow great control of the pump that sps really like.
