i was just wondering what everyone here uses to attach their frags to stuff.

i have used loctite gel and reg crazy glue. works great.
deltec putty decent results

wondering about gorilla glue?
any others i should try?

seems like all glues are kinda pricy for how much you get these days.

damm glad i am not into sniffn it. would be an expensive habit. =)

I have used the KWIK Bond #4 gel that is sold in hobby stores for $4. Lasts the same as about 50 tubes of gel.

i want to try that aquamend stuff... is it gel or a putty?

3 tubes Superglue Gel for 99¢ at Dollar Tree.
1 tube will do 10-12 1" "stick frags" or 5-6 real frags.
First I spot each plug with glue then cut up the victim. All the frags lay on a paper towel and I stick them on the glue one at a time, dipping in a bowl of SW for a couple seconds helps set the glue. I use an eggcrate tray so when I'm done I just set it in the sump for a while so the glue can set more before being put in the tanks with all the flow. Allowing some set time for the glue before mounting seems to help.

I use zap gel, it looks like this...

However, what I want to know is if there is a better way to mount frags? Basically I put a good sized dab of glue on the end of the frag then dip it under water to help skin the glue a bit. Once the glue is holding together I quickly jam it against the rock hoping to break the surface of the glue and actually make glue to rock contact. If I hold it there for a while I can make it stay but never very good and usually only after about 2 or 3 tries. I generally don't mount frags to rocks that I can take out of the tank so all my gluing needs to happen underwater.

Anybody have techniques or tips they would like to share?

here is what I do when I want to mount frags to the actual LR. Take some aquamend and make a little ball about the size 1/2rnd. Let it set alittle bit just to make it alittle less plyable. then take the gel glue and put a dab on it. Set the frag on that, the dip in water just to let the gel dry alittle. then take the other end of the putty and add some more glue gel. Take the whole thing and stick it in the place you want the frag to stay. And thats it.

Gabriel, it's a two part putty (epoxy).

Aquamend works well as a superglue sandwich as Mario said. It's not very tacky but it fills in voids well. If you have an over size hole to epoxy the frag into it works ok.
