What type of skimmer are you using?

I'm running a Remora Pro on a 29g. The skim varies how dark it is, but it may still be breaking in. And it probably doesn't help that the skimmer can't run 24/7... The roommates can't resist unplugging it to lower ambient noise and almost always "forget" to plug it back in. Nevertheless, I'd prefer a dryer skim than it's making.
