What type of T-5s for 180g to have a nem?

I would like either a BTA or an LTA, what would the lighting requirement be for them? The measurements are 72"x24"x24". What lighting would you recommend, company, etc.? Also, does that watts per gallon rule apply...? I also would like to not just "get by" with the lighting, I would really like the anemone to be happy, and thrive (hopefully:rolleyes: )

Thanks,
Steve

You should be fine with an 8 bulb T-5 HO fixture. You will want to get a fixture that has individual reflectors, as these direct more light into the aquarium. Either of the two species of anemone that you mention should do fine with T-5 HOs in a 24 inch deep tank. You asked about the watts/gallon rule. I wouldn't worry about using that with high intensity T-5 lighting. You might want to inquire with The Grim Reefer on the lighting forum regarding the mix of blue/daylight bulbs that would best serve you. With T-5s you can still get good PAR even with some of the blue spectrum bulbs.

Any specific type, like brand of lighting and model, as while I"ve been looking I've only been able to find 36" and 48" T-5 Models, and can't seem to find a 72".

Current USA (Nova Extreme) makes a fixture T-5 HO that fits a 72 inch tank. It has 12 (36inch) bulbs. That's the only one I've seen. You could also get a shorter fixture (48 inch) and ceiling mount it, though the ends of the tank would not be as bright as the middle, you could keep lower light animals there and concentrate the higher light demanding animals beneath the fixture.

I know that UV brand bulbs are excellent. There are others that are good too. Again, you could ask The Grim Reefer in the lighting forum for the best brand and color combo for the animals you intend to keep.

i'd go with six to eight 5' 80watt ho t5's/indv. reflectors. you can find them at www.premiumaquatics.com lta's like the sand sand/rock interface and would req. 8x 5' 80watt t5's in your 2'x2' 180. bta's like the rock and will wander around to find a spot (could be at the top of your aquascape), they'll be o.k. with 6 80watt t5's.
