What will kill/eat/destroy these?

I have these tube worm things on some of my rock. I keep breaking them off but I can't seem to get to all of them. They form a web or something to feed which irritates coral. I would like to find a critter that eats them.

Thanks!

Seriously if you find something that destroys these. Take credit for the finding. I've never seen a trigger go after them if you are thinking natural. I use bone cutters and my Melanurus Wrasse is right behind my hand ready to attack the worm.

Yeah I have been doing the same. Chop, chop and remove if at all possible but they keep popping up.

Does the Melanarus pick at them at all when you are not messing with them?

The smaller softer shell babies maybe. The adults no.

Melanurus Wrasse is awesome to have anyway... flat and or bristle worm assassin. Favorite fish by far. Not bad to look at either.

I've heard superglue the top on them, I've not tried it though.

I tried that but it's easier to chop them into pieces. Less of a mess also. That may work in a smaller tank better. With 30" of water height nothing comes easy.

Just an FYI for whoever finds this thread 5 years from now... a Red Coris Wrasse and a Leopard Wrasse are NOT doing anything about these bastards in my tank.

I wonder if one of those high power lasers would do it!? Not ideal like a natural solution but It has to be easier than bone cutters.

I have 10 wrasse in my tank and none eat them. I mix water weld and just push it into there holes!

Which wrasses do you have in there? That sounds like a fun tank! I find myself looking at wrasses more and more whenever I go shopping.

I agree 100% about the Melanurus, if I can get them out of the tube the wrasse cleans it up. It also eats my smaller carb clean-up-crew members :D
it is my fav wrasse.

I have also just put a blob of super-glue on the holes tip. Just the tip. It worked well.

I have a sharpened bit of acrylic and cut the buggers off at the base. It's long enough that my hands won't get wet/ attacked by our Ocellaris. Not the must high tech, but keeps them in check.
