What would cause this ...

.... on my green polyp toadstool? And more importantly, should I be worried and what, if anything should I be doing? This toadstool is otherwise healthy with it's polyps extending every day & it has been growing since I got it back in Aug.

I'm sure that you are aware that toadstool isn't an LPS. :D

Is that hole spreading, if do I would suggest you remove the rotting part.

I used to have leather rotting from the side, and inside. I cut away the rotting tissue and the rotting stopped.

I guess I should have known that since it has no hard structure ... Is it considered a soft coral? My first thought was that it might be splitting but I can't find anything similar on the web so far ... Maybe it's just really early in the process?

I'm having a similar problem with my toadstool. Has it gotten better or worse?? The polyps are still fully extending daily so it doesn't seem harmed by it. What are the latest results?

I'm almost 99% sure its splitting ... its developed another hole along the same axis as well as very deep folds long the same line ... I've been taking pictures as it progresses which I'll post once it has completely split. The polyps are fully extended every day and it seems fine. the trunk also seems to have formed 2 distinct lobes along the vertical axis but they may have been there all along ...
