What would yall do? Mp40 or 2 mp10s

I have a 60 gallon cube. Im tired of replacing my cheap power heads with cheap powerheads that go out. I know the mp40 will be enough flow for my aquarium but, my question is what would be may advantage with 2 mp10s? I would have to put the 10s on the sides of my tank which i wouldnt rather because the way it will look. The mp 40 would go on the back of my tank . What would yall do from experience ?

Go best of both worlds: MP40 + MP10 :)

In all seriousness though, if that's not possible then I would say 2 MP10s is probably better. I think having two powerheads really makes a big difference over one, even when the one is as powerful as an MP40. The randomization of flow will be significantly better with the MP10s I would imagine.

I could put them on the back wall . The way my drains are they would be pretty close to each other . Like say 10 inches apart . I thought in order for them work efficient they would have to across from each other . (As far as the wave system works )

I'm a big proponent of keeping the old rule with powerheads of ideally angling them to blow into each other or an obstacle that breaks up their flow. I ran my 29g biocube with a single MP10 for a while, and could tell in my SPS growth that it was getting somewhat linear flow, despite keeping it on reef crest random.

Are you planning on upgrading in the next few years? If so, I'd go MP40 over MP10 and just dialing them down low. I currently run 2xMP10s in my 29g biocube at about 50% power, and when I was running only 1, I had it running at like 85-90%, so I'd always go for more pump than less if in doubt.

10" apart would be fine. I have 2 on my back wall and no dead spots. they work great at 50% reef crest. is your tank 10mm glass?

i staggered mine. 8" apart and one is about 2" higher than the other. gives me great random flow.

Awesome . Thats what ill probably do at first just to test it out. The way my aquarium is set up with a canopy, if i put them on the sides its gonna look tacky in my opinion. But if i have to put them facing each other ill just have to suck it up .I measured my glass last night and its 3/8 glass
