What would you do?

I'm hooked
Hey Guys, i have a 20 gallon qt with 3 yellow pyramids, and a blue spot goby

i did a round of prazi and copper, however i noticed my pyramids had a little fin rot... i started nitrofuracin green, it fixed the problem but suddenly 2 of my pyramids had a little bump (cotton like) on the bottom of the month (not to affect eating) and suddenly had a little explosion (side of body), i am sure this is lymph based on all the pictures and readings. also they look extremely agile and healthy (with a great appetite)

the blue spot is not showing any signs of anything, i am transferring him to a 15 gallon qt tonight for an additional 4 weeks of observation, however i do not know what to do with the pyramids, i am supplementing (selcon, garilc...) the diet and feeding aggressively a wide variety of food and 20% daily wc
it is getting better but if it does not clear 100% what should i do? as in do i risk putting them in the DT? i will never have the same water quality and environment in a little 20 vs a 400 gallon system...

thanks!

If it's lymphocystis, good diet and water quality are the only cures. If they are otherwise cleared of parasites, I see no reason to keep them in QT longer than necessary.

I will post pics soon.

Just to make sure I understand correctly, if they are free of all parasites and it is truely a case of lympho you would introduce them to the display tank?

Thats what I was thinking, but I get scared with all the highly contagious cancer comments about lympho

Lymphocystis is a virus. While it can be unsightly, it typically doesn't adversely impact the fish's health. If it were me, I would try to get it completely cleared before moving to the DT. But, if I had to move it to the DT prematurely, I wouldn't stress about it.

i moved my kole tang to my dt while he still had a couple of spots of lympho. it cleared up quickly with selcon/vita-chem soaked food and it did not spread to any other fish.

right now its horrible on the sides, i cant get a good picture because of the green effect of nitrofuracin!

i will wait until it gets better and i might chance it then,

thanks nina!

In my limited experience lympho "usually" tends to show up on the fins. If on the body you might be dealing with a fungal infection in which case you would need a fungal medication to treat it.

I would keep a eye on how it progresses. I caused my emperor 2 yrs ago to develop lympho due to overdosing of cupramine (didn't have the seachem test kit) it started on a pectoral fin and spread on the body where the fin would rest. When the emperor was introduced to the DT and fed a quality diet (many varieties of foods soaked in selcon, vitachem, angelixer) it eventually went away. It did take 3-4 months for the lympho to totally disappear

i will observe move them to a larger cycled qt and observe them for a while to see it its at least getting better, them i guess i will move them

thanks!
