What would you putting your time/money on instead? If you weren't into reefing?

haha, your almost there.. The 64 442 (first model) was so named because it had a 4 barrel carb, 4 speed manual and dual exhaust.

the 400cid motors didnt make a debut til 65. They never had 4 2barrels but at one point they did have tri-power set ups of 3 2barrels.

My bad I don't know what I was thinking when I posted that.

I saw that Ford is bringing back the SHO and is going to run a twin turbo v-6. I wonder if it will be fortified enough to compete with the 2jz, 4.3l GN and the RB motors when it comes to huge horsepower on stock internals.

I though they were killing off the Taurus ?? Surprised they brought it back.

I think the 500 did not go so well so they need another full size car. I have only seen the intro for the SHO though so who knows if they will sell regs.

Dart frogs are neat, and they look to be much cheaper than either of my other hobbies. They are on the list for the next thing to get into for sure.

As far as the taurus goes if they are gonna go with something like that maybe they will do like a new improved version of the cosworth escort they had in europe back in the day. AWD turbo'd manual, something to go directly against the sti/evo market and they can sell the toned down sedan as a family car like a lancer.

That would be nice.

Check this out on Ford's website. Specifically the race against an Audi A6 w/v8 and the Sho vs sophmores. http://www.fordvehicles.com/2010taurus/
The key itself can be set up to limit things like radio volumn and top speed and even start making noise at certain speeds. I am sure it can do more. Parental control for cars LOL.

The new Sho seems to be geared towards competing with upscale cars like A6's 5 series BMW's and such. It is a 3.5l v6 twin turbo'd direct injected putting out 365hp. That is much higher then the BMW's new 3l 300hp tt engine.

I am actually waiting for Honda to revamp the SI to be able to fit the 2.4l turbo RDX motor.

If no reefing, I would put some money in my Supra...

Nice Supra! Turbo or nt?

Going back to the Ford site it says that the SHO is AWD. And yes they have brought the Taraus back in NA form as well with AWD optional.

Ditch the twins for a single. Apex Motorsports in Tucson had one with 146k miles and stock internals (even the cam) that produced almost 800whp before opeing the valve cover. Last time road in it it had dyno'ed 726whp earlier that day and then my friend drove it to a 10.4 that night on drag radials. This car even had subs tv and many other weight adding things. I know they were going to do more after that before they changed the cam.

Nice, Supra was my original dream fixer upper..

You should see the supra's in NY those guys dropping 900-1000hp running single digits.

BTW- I like wanted to open this thread as kinda like a breather away from reefing and our beloved polyps. It's nice to what other people think if they were doing this.

My 2nd Supra was heavily modded and dyno'd at close to 700whp. I have spent 25k on mods along on that Supra and because S.CA is not a modded car friendly state, so I sold it about 1 1/2 years ago. This Supra is my 3rd Supra and I am going to leave it stock (except for the wheels, suspension & exhaust). This Supra is much more enjoyable to drive than a heavily modded Supra.

350, 396 or a 454 in that?
540 C.I. BBC. I've got $6000 in the bottom end and another 3k in the top end and I still have to purchase the fueling system and the 500hp fogger system my goal is 1250 rwhp

Dude what kinda of tranny is gonna hold all of that and what kinda slicks ?

powerglide powering a aftermarket 9" rear, not sure on the tires yet I haven't gotten that far yet but something in the 31"x13.5"x15" drag radials(gotta be %100 street legal and insured) I will be running in the az fastest street cars class

wanna post pics of your project? any potential issues with buckling or frame twisting during a hard launch with all that power and torque ?

full 12pt cage installation is in the works along with a 4 link rear end built by me and a set of sub frame connectors to tie the front and rear frames together.

pics just before I brought her home for $800, I then promptly pulled the engine and tranny and flipped them on c-list for $1000 ,engine for $700 tranny for $300
