What you like about your tank, what you don't?

I currently have two tanks, a 29 reef tank with T5's, and a 20L frag tank.
Over the 40+ years that I have had aquariums I have had a variety of different sizes, configurations etc..
What I like about my current tank is that it is fairly easy to maintain, is fairly stable, and about everything in it grows well.
What I don't like is that it is only 29 gallons, and that sets me up for multiple issues with skimmers, sumps, lighting, keeping up on water changes, etc.

What do you like about your tank or tanks and why.
If you were going to set up a new/different tank what size would you want and how would you configure it?

Hmmm. I would still have a 75G tank, but I would modify it by turning it on its side so that it was shallow. I would also make an internal overflow -- or connect one straight to the back of the tank which effectively does the same thing. I think 75G is a good size. I also like some of the new 50G+ Red Sea tanks like Don has.

I would not put sand in the sump. I would not use razor calurpa. I would use an open top with a fixture mounted on a stand -- no hood. I would use external pumps wherever possible to reduce heat gain. I would not get a pistol shrimp. I would not buy rock that had a bunch of cute little brown "tube worms" all over it. I still think I would use metal halides, but I would get an electronic ballast.

That about sums it up.

I'll have to think about this one... :D But really I don't think I'll ever have the perfect tank... I think thats why I have so many... I do things with the others that I can't do for some reason or other with one... ;)

I have 75 gallons with fish and live rock, a 10-gallon sump with up to a 100-gallon skimmer.
The only thing I’m not happy with. There is a plant that grows on my rock and is over taking my tank, if I do not keep it cut away or scrub it off.

I'm starting to not like my Zoa's. When I first put them in my tank they were 'cute', Now I kind of think of them like I did with the green star polyps. They both are kind of taking over my tank.

I wish I had that problem, all my zoas are dieng off, acro's, sps, and softies are fine....Zoos are not though...
