whats a good price for salt, delivered?

ok, we all have preferences . how much does that salt cost ? in this hobby the price should be considered but you will have a tank with hundreds if not thousands invested so saving on salt will be the least worry .i would rather save by using lower wattage pumps and lights rather than skimping on the necessity's

I noticed salt resadue on some buckets and none on others, maybe its the buckets and not the salt? Why has no one mentioned Instant Ocean, just curious??

IO is basically for fish only tanks unless you supplement it and then you end up with reef crystals .what kind of salt are you getting residue with as many of the brands do this .

i had problems with RC that i haven't had with coralife and MY params where better with coral life ....$40 a bucket anytime i want it at the LFS ...thats my experience im sure others are different ..don't want to make this a which salt is better thread

actually almost all salt mixes will support reef life .you can run into problems when you have a heavily stocked SPS tank with the lesser salts .but yes we have beaten this subject into the ground $40 is about it .

I bought 4 buckets of RC last time Dr F&S had thier great sale and I haven't had any issues with any residue, IO on the other hand (what I use for my 72) had a lot of white residue left over after mixing. It might have been the batch but know I just use RC until the next good deal comes along.
