building a 210. need advice on return pump. leaning towards doing a bean animal overflow. cheaper the better for me. will a mag 18 be too much?

I use the eheim 5000+ compact pump on my 210 gallon tank. I love the fact I can turn it down and up on the pump itself. I have to run it dialed down to keep it from pushing too much water, my overflow can only handle about 1200 gph.

You could use a Mag 18 but you wont need more than 1000gph after head loss and be sure to install a ball valve at the pump exit to fine tune

Other good pumps that would work

Eheim 1262
Waterblaster 5000
Sicce 5
Laguna max Flow 1500

keep in mind the mag pumps especially larger sizes like the 18. use ALOT of power compared to a waterblaster or similiar. and they seem to add quite a bit of heat to tank.
how much headloss are you dealing with ? seems most of those pumps will function as return an feed reactors. if you headloss is reasonable.

Don't know I haven't built the tank. Just weighing options and getting suggestions. I'd like to stay under $200 if possible. Looking used also
