Whats reasonable wait time for a buyer?

On Oct 19th I purchased a piece of equipment from a member here listed under RC's selling forum.I paypaled him and asked when he would ship he said tomarrow and he will send a tracking #This was Oct 19th.

Oct 22nd ,I sent him a pm asking if he shipped and if so I didnt get a tracking number,He replys Ive been busy with his son in the hospital and will ship tomarrow.

I haven't heard from him since its now the 27th and I pmed him again 2 days ago.
Time wise,what do you guys think is reasonable here to have to wait?I dont want to call someone out that might hav some real issues going on but,I 'm thinking he just pm me some kind of update,taking 30 seconds or so.

Maybe Im just paranoid from being taken on a coral trade 3 weeks ago....
 
I think you've been more than patient. Real issues are real issues, but he's got his money, and fair is fair. That's not your problem. I sold some stuff recently and I bent over backwards to get it all out immediately, returned PM's with tracking numbers etc. If his kid is so sick, why is he sitting around listing items on RC. It's way beyond reasonable at this time. If he has time to list stuff with a kid in the hospital, he's got time to shoot you a PM with an estimated ship date AT THE LEAST!

If I were you, I'd open a claim with PayPal right away and not even bother trying to work it out with the seller. I wouldn't wait longer than 5 days for something to ship.
 
Yeah I guess hes leaving me no choice.I shot him an email, right after I checked his profile and his last activity read: last visit yesterday 12:04 pm.So he had to have gotten my last pm I sent 2 days ago.

So Im going to make a claim with paypal at some point today.

Heres the part I dont get.He had several items listed ,all sold and all 6 members left positive reviews in the feedback forum I seem to be the only one that didnt get there item.
 
You can track PM's too Steve to see if he read it. It at least allows you to give someone the benefit of the doubt, or to see that they read it and know they're blowing you off.
 
You have been more than patient. If it were me, I'd send him another PM. Ask again for the tracking number or an estimated ship date. State your expectations clearly. Tell him what you plan to do if you do not have a tracking number by a specified date and time and follow through on it. You also have his email address so I would send him the exact same message via email.

It arrived today post stamped shipped on the 24th from texas
He had also threw in some extras that I was surprised to see
Also responded to my email .sounds genuine to me.
