Whats the Best anemone food around?

I like to feed my LTA table shrimp, but I make sure that it's wild caught and not farm raised. The farm raised shrimp are fed strange things and i just don't trust it. I tried feeding her scallops and squid - she didn't like either of those. She's also eaten two cleaner shrimp, so she seems to have a preference for shrimp varieties. :)

It's hard for me to believe that a nem would die from eating a silverside alone unless there was some sort of packaging/freezing error or coincidence w/ another issue, I mean, that's what nems eat, fish.

Quality control on silversides is probably not the best...

Also, most of the large hosting anemones feed largely on detritus and fish waste in the wild, and while a fish or two is certainly in the diet, I don't think it's their main food source (outside of the zooxanthellae)

SLAKKER, I do agree that light is a huge source of energy for them, but not sure about your theory on them not eating fish in the wild.
Why would something evolve/develop that type of mechanism and not use it?
Over the last 5 1/2 years I have lost 2 naso tangs right after intro, my beleif is that if it's dumb enough to get too close or swim into it, it's food for sure.

Shrimp cut up into small sized pieces rinsed/thawed in RO and soaked in HUFA, once a week. Oh and the other fish food that strays toward the nem when I feed the tank.

haha never herd of that..but i feed strickly krill becuase its pink and my white long tenacles have now turnedpink due to feeding of pink krill rather then silver sides, and my bubble tips i feed silvers and their white as can be, but dont get me wrong their huge.

And watch out if your nem doesn't have a host. It'll eat any critters that it can get it's tentacles on. Which is why I'm now missing two cleaner shrimp.

What are the odds that an LTA would end up eating two tomato clowns that had just started hosting?

I've never heard of a nem eating a clown. But at night I tossed some food in the tank my bta caught it and a bristle worm tried to take it and it got caught in the nemos mouth. But the scary thing is I saw the nems mouth swell up like a ball. And it let go.

I feed mine chunks of raw codfish that I get from the grocery store. The guy at the seafood counter doesn't even charge me for it. The nem seem's to love it, and so does my trachy.

i feed my LTA the same thing i feed my fish. Minced shrimp, fish, seaweed and squid. I ran it all through a food processor and froze it. I cut off pieces when i need them and thaw in water from the tank. It stays clumped together unless i split it. The largest clump goes to the nem.
