Personally I just use a 6500K CFL bulb from the local big box hardware store... Guess it also depends how small an area you are talking about...

I use a LED flood bulb from Costco. Macro has been growing like crazy and the bulbs are over a year old.

LED and CFL bulbs have weird wattages. Color spectrum is what is important. My bulbs are 30 watt, 6500 K bulbs.

The 6500K CFL has always given great results!

You can also research 14W PAR30 LED Refugium Grow Light just don't like the prices for them vs CFL

I lied. This is what I run. It is 23 watts, not 30...

I picked this up at a Petsmarts for $25 since it was an open box. My chaeto grows really well and stays a nice bright green.
