What's the going rate in Broward for power?

single, 2 story townhouse 75 gal with T5 no chiller..A/C set at 76
average electrical bill 250.00
Water bill 100.00

my electric bill on average is around $140 for a tiny 2 bedroom house... i keep the ac 75-77

can you check the kWh used?

my bill here in stuart was $180 for 1652 kWh, or just under .11 cents per kWh including all the other 'stuff' they tack on.

hmmmm, right now I'm running a 1000W, a 250W, and 2- 175W halides. 7-65W PC's, a 40W flourescent on 24/7, and other assorted small lights. a mag24, 2-mag12's, a quiet one, and other assorted pumps and power heads, a chiller, and a box fan.
oh, and the rest of a two bedroom house too.
hopefully I can keep the bill about the same....

my current bills break down similar to SWFL's with the cheaper first 1000 kWh.

mak4 pump. blueline 40 pump. 324 wt t-5 eheim 1240 (maybe) 2 koralie 4 2- maxi 900 96wt pc. 12 volt powersupply 2 4" fans

yikes I'm afraid to post mine

ditto, it's about a car payment.

Try FPL's website to find their rates, there are some calculators as well.

If it makes you guys feel any better, I'm almost positive the rates are higher here up in Tallahassee, since they run their own utilities (power, water, etc) so it costs more, but it's independent of the FPL grid.... for whatever reason.

Baseline power (first 750 or 1000kwh, I forget which) is about 10.5 cents/kwh. Beyond that threshold, it's 12.3 cents/kwh. Plus a flat customer charge of around $8. You can also get credits for putting your AC, water heater, etc. on a load management program.

ReefWreak, if Tally is served by Gulf Power, they have some of the lowest electricity rates in the country - as do the rest of the Southern Company utilities. I worked for Gulf Power one summer back in college.

uhhhh 2200 sf house
pool
pool heater
A/C at 76
sprinkler pump
small pond
220g tank with 6, pumps and 1hp chiller
1 5 year old who thinks light switches work in only 1 direction

Typically 550$ a month.

on the bright side, i save 4$ a month with FPL's on demand service!

Nooo Tallahassee is powered by Tallahassee Utilities. The power plant, water plants, everything but the Cable TV are owned by the city. No Gulf Power, no FPL. You've got to just drive downtown and pay your bill to the city.
