What's the new "HOT" coral for 2006 LPS or SPS

How many people think a PT Barnum quote would be appropriate right about now...

Exactly what I was thinking, Mac:)

If there are any customers of that vendor reading this thread, I have some very rare acropora frags for sale, species - Ripuoffapora Andtakeyourdoughicus:D

I had a guy come in from IL. telling me about Rhyzos and from what he said some of those prices from that site are cheap compared to what some sell for. I don't know if "HOT" is the word. I'd think FEVERISH would be a better term.

Even "feverish-er" is the prices on Acan and Micro frags. I think someone forgot to tell him that the prices have come down.....

they look like something that hasn't been in the trade before mostly because the divers never thought to collect them, not because the are 'OMGRARE!1!1!'. the wholesalers will try to keep them coming in at a trickle to trick people into thinking they are super rare, then the floodgates will open (just like acans) and they will be everywhere.

It is my understanding that the Rhizo is not coming from wholesalers. There is a reason why they are priced that high. :)

I don't see what is so special about that rhizo anyways. I don't think I would pay more than $20 for a polyp of it, and to imagine they are going for thousands of $$$ for a single polyp. I like to collect exotic and rare corals but when people charge prices like this it is just way out of hand. You and I both know that the divers aren't getting any more for this coral than they would a mushroom so someone in the middle is making a ton.

well if like stated in this thread that riccordia are getting exspensive thank god i got my pink and blue ones (5 polyps each rock) for 14.99 at LFS:)

OK... I'll partner w/ someone that has one and we'll reproduce them some how. Then we'll sell them for dirt cheap and take the market! Everyone will be too greedy to drop their prices to ours. MUAHAHAHAHA! WHO's w/ ME!

Some of the price is coming from shipping those corals from country to country if you get my drift. Its not cheap and most of the livestock will come dead. Someone has to pay for those loss's and continue the restocking to the U.S. market.

I would be cheaper to get a 2way ticket and pay a diver and bring them home. Maybe even stop for a beer. The sad thing is I'm right.
