What's the secret to water clarity?

Can't seem to find any accurate up to date info on tips to get that crystal clear LFS display water clarity. I do have a diamond goby that sifts all day long but the water doesn't have the look of fine substrate particles. It has more of a light haze from time to time (generally late in the day).

Wondering who may have some tips out and who else might be looking for the same results.

Your fish isn't helping... but..

Its really not "normal" for saltwater tanks to be "hazy" at all.. However some people run carbon to remove yellowing impurities or mechanical filtration to remove particulate matter,etc...
It could also be a bacterial bloom that you are experiencing..

Often people do not have proper baffles, and probably don't realize micro bubbles are making water look less clear, so this, a sock, and if I want crystal clear like I'm about to photo tank or something I may run carbon for a short spell(I don't run carbon all the time)

After changing the filter media (mechanical blue/white, poly pad, phosphate pad) I took a good hard look last night and there are some micro bubbles. I attributed those to the filter change along with the "messing" with the tank water.

I dose carbon (Vodka/Vinegar/RODI) solution and have slowly bumped that up over time. I wonder should I dose more to get past the white haze or back off?

My Avatar pic was taken just a week or so ago. You can see a little of what I'm describing as "hazy".

The haze will go away if you back off on the Vodka Vinegar dose. There's too much bacteria in the tank.

Thanks! Ill give that a shot. I was hesitant cause I didn't wanna create another problem by backing off the Carbon dose too much.

I can attest to the diamond not helping.. I'm running a Redsea Reefer 150 with a simplicity skimmer, and nothing else water tech wise. And before I got a diamond the water was almost always pretty clear, now until the goby goes to sleep it's slightly hazy and I've just come to accept thats normal since he's always shifting and such.

Heres a random picture I took a month or 2 back not perfect and only had 2 baby clowns haha

wow that is some very pretty water! You must be doing something right.

FWIW I cut the vodka/vinegar dose from 26ml to 18ml daily. Also placed a large chemipure blue carbon pouch in the filter area. Seems to be improving the water quality.

In a 90g tank the goby shouldn't be causing enough issue to make the water not crystal clear. A properly sized skimmer, socks and some quality carbon can go along way towards having crystal clear water

If you want crystal clear water, UV works wonders. I run them on all my tanks, within hours you will see a huge difference.

Carbon also works but be careful, it can strip the water of DOCs very quickly and could cause issues for some corals, such as SPS.
