What's this on my Clown?

I have a Clown in QT that has something developing on the side of his head. I suspected mechanical injury, but it looks worse today than it did Saturday when I bought him. Here's how he looked Saturday:

And here's how he's looking today, 3 days later.

He also had something hanging from it this morning before work, visible when looking at him top down. I'm not sure if it was skin from possibly jumping or extra slime coat, but it appears to be gone now. He doesn't hide, he swims right above the PVC elbow at the front of the glass and eats well.

Any ideas?

Some sort of fluke or anchor worm wound left after it detached?

The wound is improving, appears to be closing up some since yesterday. No other symptoms besides three flashes on the PVC pipe earlier, and not since. Going to give him another full day of eating and start Prazi then go from there.
