So I was taking pics of everything in the 30 cause I am having some growth spurts lately and like to have a pic reference and noticed that this green encrusting stuff is now growing to the glass as seen in the pic?? I bought the rock with corals about 2-3 months ago and now its growing out onto the glass!! I am still a noob to corals and growths and what not so just curious as to what it is??

Thanks in advance

I absolutely love these questions! It makes me feel good to know Im not alone!! I just wish I had a better camera so when I post pictures of it people would have a clue what their lookin at!

It's a type of algea. I'd scrub it off the glass.

Oh ok thanks, I am going to let it go for now since things will be moving into the 100 in feb sometime. Its quite hard and a good section of the rock is covered and that rock has alot of corals on it, should I try to clean it off before moving to new tank? or just try to control it?

if it's encrusted and hard on the rocks, that's sorta a mystery to me, but the stuff on your back glass is definitely a type of algea.
