Whats up with my anemone?

Bought a really nice looking (at the time) GBTA. Got it at our annual Frag-Swap from a commercial vendor. Brought it home acclimated it. It had some difficulty in adhering as initally it was doing one of those zero gravity manuevers aroung the tank. so I had to sit there and watch it so it did not get sucked into the pumps or into the overflow. SO I finally got tired of continuously relocating it and stuck it under a rock ledge. It worked?? Well this AM, I had to search for it. It was like a scared kitten, shriveled and very mninute behind a roick. It was a nice big one when inflated- at least 4-6".
So here is my latest observation. It is attached to the rock, but it is just that. Not inflated, but the tentacles are still a nice green color. It just looks like a big deflated balloon, passed out looking. I have a LPS tank, 4 clowns, a Copperband B-fly, Atlantic Tang, a s-load of hermits. Everything else in the tank is thriving. I was so disapointed when the RBTA that I bought last fall - disapeered. The clowns really loved it. But now they love my duncan colony for lack of of the anemone. I am not sure if this anemone is on its last leg or not (tongue in cheek). I can try and get some pics of it in the AM if it is still alive! (sic)

What are your water parameters? Also, your lighting system? During the initial acclimation period anemones can look "off" until they settle in. This can take more than a week if shipping or the previous holding tank was vastly different from conditions in your tank.

Common behavior even for established anemones; they like a time out now and then. Give it a day or two to get settled in. Note that they'll tend to move around at first, looking for a spot to their liking; in general, that'll be somewhere where their foot is protected, and where they can deflate in shadow, as yours is now doing. Usually, the location will be somewhere just underneath strong flow. Don't be surprised if it tries a few locations looking for the perfect spot.
