Whats up with my GBTA?

Whats up with my anem? Has been like this for about three weeks. About the same time he started this I cut the flow down on my closed loop from a Mag 18 to a Mag 12 as well as added a new skimmer. Had a nasty Cyano prob that I fought for aboout 6 mos and since hooking my new skimmer it's just about gone. I have two true percs that have hosted him for a little over a year. All other corals are doing great since the change but my anem is pouting (sticking his lip out at me!) and attempts to eat but doesn't, any ideas?

Forgot to mention, this pic was taken about 30 min after lights on and in the pic he is about 4" across, about 8" when expanded.

Have 1-400 watt 20 k.
Female is about 2' and the male about 1.5.

One thing that came to mind was when he started this he deflated completely and swelled his mouth up. This is the end result.

You don't. There are really no medications for anemones out there that I know of. But it may not be that for sure. I will let more experience members see this thread and they will say what they think.

Good luck

Pulled the clowns Monday, expanded more today but takes about 30 minutes to eat. Snatches food and draws it to it's mouth but takes 30 minutes to be gone.

It still takes it like greadily and sends it to its mouth just as fast, just takes a while to swallow it. Looking better today as far as expansion goes, tenticles closes to the mouth are coming back out but still has a fat lip. Thing some selcon might help?

selcon. Nope.

Just have god parms. plenty of light and no stress. Keep feeding it too every two days. Small feedings though.

Your anemone looked starved in the picture.

Was feeding once every week , week and a half. I'll bump it up and keep you posted. Anyting specific? I feed shrimp and salmon currently. Prefers shrimp.

What size silversides are you feeding it? I suggest 1/4 inch or less for a sick anemone, they have to get it down and digest it and if they arent feeling well that takes energy.
Try a very small piece and see if he will swallow it.
If not, remove the fish and cut it in half again and try again. If he swallows the 1/8 piece give him the other 1/8 inch,
some anemones that don't feel well just can't get a large silverside down.
Let us know if that works.

Trying that now, 1/2 silver side. Everything else in the tank is doing great, would it help to increase my lighting time? I'm currently running 12 hours

I would do the opposite, reduce the lighting and give it a rest in the dark. Reduce to 8 hours a day. Your corals will be fine, just do it for a few days and then back to normal. See if that helps him.
If you have moonlights turn them off.
It is something I have found that seems to help them to recover.
If your silversides are over an inch, give him a quarter of it.
Hope that he recovers for you.
