What's up with the recent Red Sea Tank failures? 750XXL ?

I have seen a few failures lately, especially on their big tanks. A few reports on their 750xxl in last few weeks. One 750xxl had the back pane blow out. The other started leaking at the bottom.

Their Facebook group page is heavily filtered with moderators removing all comments which doesnt favor the company. To give you an example, someone asked if 160+ gallons spilling onto to their floor is covered by home insurance. I said "That would be a question for your insurance company." The comment was deemed "irrelevant", then deleted. Figured my response was pretty relevant....

Hopefully this thread stays open and unchanged unlike their Facebook page. When a company has to resort to those kinds of tactics, it's a sign to run for your life. Bottom line, all products in this world have issues... it's just the world we live in. Nothing is perfect. And yes we all know alot of problems are caused by the end customer themselves, and improper installation.

I would lose my mind if that happened to me. I can't even fathom the idea.. I have a Reefer 350.

Marineland has had similar issues - I think primarily with their deep dimension tanks.

The bottom line is the aquarium industry has few (if any) quality control measures. Go to MACNA or RAP, and you'll feel like you're surrounded by used car salesmen.

Youza I guess they have been giving new tanks for the lightest little chip on the tank, to ignoring a full on failure.

A leaking tank is already pretty bad but a whole panel just popping off is a nightmare scenario.
It may happen once in a while even if everything is done correctly, but if it happens more than once in a relative short period of time then it points to a serious, possibly systemic issue in their manufacturing process.
And them trying to mute the news about this isn't a good sign.

300 DD's are the Marineland tanks you want to search on and read before you buy. Those are the ones that had the issues with regards to seams. I do not own one nor have had issues with one but it was the original tank I was researching to buy before I ended up saying no and go custom.

Some people frequent several boards. I'm wagering the one you are talking about is a bit heated but never the less people do. Choose to read, reply, etc. Then again with some recent changes people may migrate back to another one.

I don't think I really have an answer for ya...

Not everyone is on every board? I am in the market for a tank and was considering a Red Sea. Glad I saw this post.
