What's ur tank stand height??

38" here. Good height for standing and looking, and the perfect height for sitting on the stool we keep next to the tank. Plenty of room to work in the sump, and I'm 6'3" so working in the tank isn't a problem.

here's what 30.5" is starting to look like.

i kinda wish i would have went a little higher, but one of the main reasons i didn't is because i like to see the bottom of the tank/sand from the sofa a little better. plus my GF is short so she'll be happy i went lower. im 6'2 also, and putting it where i did allows me to comfortablely work inside tank and overflow box without assistance from a stool.

one great thing about the DIY stand is that it's super easy and to re-do legs for a different height would be very inexpensive.

My stand is 36" tall, plenty of room to work in the sump and a great viewing height. I'm only 5'10" or so, so I do use a step stool to reach the bottom of the tank, but it's no big deal.

I made mine so that the middle of the tank was eye height. Makes it easy to watch the whole tank this way

Well.....I just finished skinning the stand...almost ready for paint!

Man...some of those stands are impressive guys. How did you do the doors? Can you buy doors in the cabinet section at Lowes? I don't think I'll have a problem finding the hardware. I really like the stand that the doors open to outside and NO center brace. A lot room to work the front too.

What should I do with the paint? Should I sand, prime, and then paint? I'm thinking like a mold or water resistant paint. Any recommendations?? I want mine to look top notch like ya'lls.

43"

Allows me to have two drawers and still over 30" of clearance under the drawers. The drawers are extremely useful.

From ground level to your plywood deck where the bottom of the tank is flush with plywood?

What's too high? I want plenty high to work, but not so high it looks stupid.

37" and no plywood deck :) The tank sites on the two structural cross members made from American Black Walnut that are glue laminated together to a 3 1/2" finished width after running them thru the planer and joiner.

I don't have it all worked out yet but mine will be a little lower then most. I want it at this height when i get my in wall tank built.

my stand is 36" high. I love the tall stand so i can stand and look at the tank. The height of a 90g makes take maintenance a pain in the butt though.
