What's Wrong W/ My Clown?

I've had this clown for about 4 months now. He used to host a flowerpot, but I noticed the flowerpot starting to die back from it's skelton, so I removed it. Within 3 days, the clown had found the hammer coral. He's been hosting there for about 3 weeks now & all of the sudden today I noticed an area of his whit stripe seemed like it had been "bleached" out. He's just as active as he was before & he appears to show no ill feelings at all. Is it the hammer coral that's causing him to appear "bleached" or "faded"? Any help is appreciated!!

my clown hosts a hammer and now hes got black spots all over him... i was told this is normal. i bet its the same for your situation.

The "bleaching" seems to go away overnight as the hammer regresses at night. We'll see what the clown looks like tonite after the lights have been on for a few hours & the hammer is open.
