Whats wrong with my clam?

Alright, so I think this is the reason why my clam is TO'd. In the past 2 weeks, I've accidently left the RO/DI running and added quite a bit of water to tank. The first time I went from 1.027 to 1.023... And today I went from 1.025 to 1.022.

Anyways, here is the pictures. Today is the first day he has ever done this:

So any ideas?

My parameters are good:
pH 8.1-8.2 constant
Temp 80.5 consistant (never changes thanks to my RK2)
Calcium and Alkalinity are in line and OK (was 440 ppm and 4 meq/L respectively)
Nitrate 5ish (but clams use nitrates so it shouldn't be a problem)
Phosphates low

2x175w MH running XM 20K's.. water is VERY clear and the photoperiod is 7 hours.

It's possible that the large salinity swings stressed it.

Does anything else in the tank show any sign of stress?

It looks like pinched mantle.. the mantle is folding inwards.

I'll try a FW dip tonight after work.

My alkalinity is 2.5 meq/L or like 6 dKH.. I'm adding some buffer as we speak.

My clam passed this morning. His mantle was fully curled inwards, his foot was way way way retracted into the shell, and he didn't respond to me grabbing him.

If this was pinched mantle, can I wait like 6 weeks and the protozoan will be gone (like Ich)?

i don't think it was either. in the pics i don't see any new shell growth. 175w 20k MH is very low on par and out of the ideal spectrum for Croceas and really all tridacnid clams.

The 20K is almost actually as bright as the 10K (according to Sanjay's studies on the 175w XM bulbs). The lights are like 7" above the water and the clam was like 4" under the surface. The water is very clear (run lots of carbon) and there was no surface scum. I would have thought that it was enough light.

62ppfd and 51ppfd arent that close. 20k bulbs focus too much on just blue to keep all the different types of zoox that a clam houses happy, reproducing and making food to keep the clam happy. especially at a low par of 51
